Last week Adobe posted an update regarding the new support dates for currently released versions and announced two additional updates – two more security patches and changed End Of Support date.

Adobe Commerce 2.4.4 is scheduled to be released in March 2022, and it contains a wide variety of improvements, including support of PHP 8.1. The changes should make platform maintenance easier. However, migration may be complex if you’re using a heavily customized version of the platform (including third-party extensions).

This was probably one reason that forced Adobe to change the End Of Support date for Adobe Commerce 2.3 to the 8th of September, 2022. Until this date, the stores using that version will still be PCI compliant, protected against security vulnerabilities, and get the latest updates. This decision gives the merchant with customized stores significantly more time to prepare for the upcoming update with fewer risks.

Another announced change is related to security patches. Two more will be released in August 2022 – 2.3.7-p4 and 2.4.3-p3. They will be rolled out as pre-release on the 26th of July 2022 and become publicly available on the 9th of August 2022.

One more announcement is related to paid extended support for Adobe Commerce 2.3.7 and 2.4.0 to 2.4.3 (all that use PHP 7.4).  Now customers will extend the support period for one year after the official End Of Support date. However, on a paid basis only.
